Writing

In addition to his work as a performer, Jamie Campbell is an award-winning writer for the stage and screen, specializing in finding light in the midst of darkness. His work has been produced on stages across America as well as screens big and small. He works across multiple genres, and has received accolades for his work in comedy, drama, horror, thriller, and musical theatre. Jamie utilizes nearly two decades of experience as a stand-up comedian and improviser to bring levity to heavy situations, and prides himself in creating work that leaves audiences with a sense of hope.
Current projects include working on the writing team for the upcoming holiday family feature Gingerbread Men, in production from Clearlight Entertainment, and Sneakerhead, a horror screenplay that won the Grand Prize at the Dallas International Film Festival and is slated for production from Torfoot Studios.
Additionally, Jamie has been a staff writer for the cult hit webseries Lunch and Learn, which garnered millions of online streams. He co-write the musical four play, which was named the “Best New Work in Chicago Theatre,” by BroadwayWorld. His thriller, Mourning Sickness, was produced by V-Pac Productions in the United Kingdom.
He has two feature-length scripts available for production:
Kirby in Limbo, which Oscar-nominee Mike Medavoy called “endlesly compelling” was the winner of The Southern California Screenwriting Competition and Write LA named it one of their Top 5 screenplays of the year. His screenplay, Call Me Thor was a finalist for the Sundance Institute’s Development Track and has taken home top prize in multiple screenwriting competitions, most recently being named “Best of Fest” at last year’s Cordillera International Film Festival.
Jamie is currently seeking literary representation and is open to commissioned work, including screenplay punch-ups, collaborations, and consultations.
